Just the two of us!

I'm spending some time today with my little dd. My oldest is with her grandma, and my other dd went to work with her daddy. It's so nice to have some one on one time with her. I really love how much we connect when it's just us two. :)  She is such a talker and I have answered a thousand questions, but I don't mind ;)  I really enjoy these learning moments.  She is watching the little mermaid right now, Oh how she loves that movie!

I'm going to start planning for next week, since I have not started yet. *sigh*  I really wish I planned a month in advance, but I never seem to be able to.   Happy Saturday to all!

Tarantula!

EEeeccckkkkk! We now have a new pet. A spider! A tarantula! I wasn't sure about keeping it at first but it seems to be a big hit so far.  We made it a home! I feel kinda bad for the lil guy/girl so a release may come soon. It has been neat to observe it.

Also I read today:

September is Oklahoma's tarantula migration month

Here are some great Tarantula Resources!

Classroom fun!

She is loving Starfall.com in our newly organized school room

Okay, so a couple months ago I so-called organized our school room. Well I organized a bunch of junk is what I did! Keeping things, thinking how I could not rid myself of them, in fear of "maybe" needing them. Yesterday, I stepped in and finished the job! I rid the school room and for that, I'm feeling relief! How things can weigh a person down! They saying of Less is More, is so true in my case.  I hauled out bags of trash and my suv is filled with things to donate. I was keeping empty boxes in hope of turning them into art projects. I can get empty boxes anytime, so why was I keeping them! I moved things into nice little spots. I love it! I'm truly happy with it the room now.

Last year we pulled up carpet to find hard wood floors. We haven't got a chance to sand them down and make them beautiful again. I can't wait until we are able to tackle that. Also can't wait to pick out paint and make this room a fun and bright color. For now I will find peace in what I have. I find it a blessing to even have this space for a school room.

Many Blessings!

3rd Grade!

Time for an update!  Looked through the blog last night and wow so much has changed!

3rd grade, you have got to be kidding me! Seems just like yesterday I was starting Kindergarten with my oldest and now my youngest is already there. I ordered our curriculum for this year a couple months back and had slowly, but surely looked it all over. Sure there are things I love, but also a bunch we are not using. I will adjust things and make it work.  I figure since this is my 4th year homeschooling I should be pro soon, lol.  Well I have a lot to learn, yet.

Mess galore in this house lately. Books strung from one end of the house to the other. I tucked the girls in bed last night to find our brand new math book tucked nicely behind Breanna's pillow.  Yeah! like that one was gonna work :)  A little math in bed, perhaps, Nah don't think so. ;)  So far the dining room table has caught the brunt of the mess, but that's okay. I'm a bit to anal at times, but I'm learning to let go a bit more and understand that when homeschooling 3 kids a bit of chaos is all in all, probably, normal.

Printable Sight Words

Welcome to our
Sight Word Resource Post!

Sight Words

We are currently using sight word flash cards, and using Starfall.com. I can already tell a huge difference in the girls, as these methods are very effective for them.
